Job Fair - April 2025
On Thursday, April 17th, 2025 (10 am - 2 pm), there will be a job fair with employers who are open to hiring individuals with justice system contact, who understand the value they provide with their willingness to help this special subgroup with stabilization (via employment) as they re-enter the Champaign community.

News Gazette Feature
This feature by the Champaign media outlet, News Gazette, brought attention to the launch of a Champaign County non-profit organization (Hope for Women) focused on women's reentry after system contact. The article (click here) provided insight as to the struggles of women reentrants and the various types of programming and services needed for successful and sustainable reentry.
Resume Building Workshop
Resumes allow job candidates to show job search committees why they should be brought in for an interview. In most instances, they serve as the means by which an employer can learn if a candidate has either the preferred skills or potential to perform the professional role that needs to be filled. Resume writing requires structure and technical writing expertise; allow us to assist you with this vital process.
Stories of Resilience
This was March 2024 event put together by Families of Resilience and Hope for Women (HFW). The event was the establishment of a forum for currently and/or formerly incarcerated persons needing to share their stories of resilience, as they continue to overcome barriers and eventually stabilize in the community.
Emerging Leaders Conference
This event took place in February 2024 and focused on the professional development of community leaders who have been impacted by the justice system. The conference also provided attendees information about Chicagoland area grants they may want to pursue in the efforts to deliver services to those in need. JLUSA focuses on developing leaders that use their efforts to empower underserved persons to self-advocate using available tools and resources.
Free H.E.R. Conference
The national FreeHer Campaign is a distributed organizing, deep canvassing, issue advocacy campaign to raise awareness and shift public opinion toward the goal of ending incarceration of women and girls/closing women’s jails and prisons.
The campaign was launched in 2021 to stop new construction of women’s jails and has spawned an annual conference where supporters and like-minded organizations commune and strategize re: best practices.
